Bogart Film to Open Theater

“The Treasure of Sierra Madre,” one of Humphrey Bogart's most outstanding movies, will open the new downtown theater, The Blue Mouse, Wednesday night.

The Blue Mouse, a downstairs theater of 100 seats, is located at 260 E. 1st South and is managed by Art Proctor, owner of the Avalon Theater.

The Blue Mouse is in the old Cinema Art, which opened 20 years ago, Mr. Proctor said.

“Treasure of the Sierra Madre,” an Oscar film, also starring Walter Huston, is the first in a series of Bogart films which will be presented through the week of Nov. 15. Each will run one week, except Sundays.

Other Bogart films include “Casablanca,” Oct. 25; “Thank Your Luck Stars,” Nov. 1; “King of the Underworld,” Nov. 8; and “Dark Passage,” Nov. 15.

Other film festivals will include movies of Jean Harlow, Bette Davis and Gary Cooper.

Shows are presented nightly at 7:15 and 9:15, except Sundays.
