Deseret News, 6 May 2007

Article Summary:

Cottonwood Mall Theatre
StageRight Theater Company began as a small Bountiful company many years ago. For the past few years they've been using a 110-seat space in the Cottonwood Mall Theatre. Their lease is short-term, three months at a time, and not even the mall office knows when the old theater will be torn down. StageRight has decided to be proactive and just move out. Raelynn Potts, artistic director for StageRight, explained, “We just don't want to continue with that uncertainty.” The last event will be a fund-raising “moving sale” on June 23.

Academy Theatre Company
The Academy Theatre Company, a performing group allied with the Academy of Performing Arts, sent out an e-mail last week indicating that the company may close if attendance and support don't improve.

St. George Musical Theatre
St. George Musical Theatre is temporarily utilizing space in Dixie State College's Eccles Center after losing their most recent space, a former elementary school that is soon to be razed for a large development.
