New Theatre to Open on Friday

Vernal Express, 28 March 1946, page 1

The new “Vernal Theater” constructed on East Main Street by Deward and Alson Shiner will open Friday evening.  “No Time For Love,” starring Fred MacMurray and Claudette Colbert will be the opening feature.

The new theater, under construction since last August, has a seating capacity of 530.  The large foyer has an interesting jazz plaster finish.  The entrance doors have an attractive frosted glass design.

The auditorium carries a tan and rose color scheme throughout with luxurious leather and frieze chairs.  The Intermountain Theater Supply Co. supervised the decorating.   Manford Campbell was the building contractor.

According to the managers, the theater will be in operation seven nights weekly, with a schedule of two shows each night.  A special matinee will be held on the opening night.

Wilma S. Hansen will sell tickets in the attractive booth.
