S.L. Premiere Of 'World' To Aid Needy
John Denman, manager of Fox-Intermountain Theaters, announced that the Bountiful Kiwanis Club, headed by A. J. Southwick Jr., along with other Kiwanis clubs in the area, are sponsoring the opening performance of the Michael Todd production.
Producer Todd is donating the entire theater for that evening to aid the Kiwanis Club's funds for underprivileged children and other worthy Kiwaniis programs.
Similar programs have been carried out for the other 30 openings of the film in the nation, Mr. Denman said.
Tickets are available at $10, $5, and $2 and are tax deductible as long as they are obtained through the Kiwanis groups.
The film stars David Niven as Phileas Fogg, Cantinflas, as his valet; Shirley McLaine; Frank Sinatra, Marlene Dietrich, Noel Coward, Beatrice Lilly and many other cameo stars.
After the gala premier, the regular run of the picture on a reserved seat basis will begin Aug. 2.
