My grandfather, Alfred F.Edginton owned this theater in the 20s but put it in the name of my uncles F.L. Edginton and George Edginton. It was then the Hyland Theater. When talking films came into the picture, he invested a large amount of money into what was supposed to be the best sound equipment there was. This turned out not to be true. He sold the theater sometime in the late 30s, as we moved to California in March of 1931. I enjoyed seeing the picture of the theater.

This was renamed World Playhouse on November 27th, 1952. I have the ad.
