Children's Theatre 237
Salt Lake City, Utah
Since 1985, the Children's Theatre had never obtained a long term lease or owned a building. After searching for a permanent home for over three years, the Children's Theatre announced in June 2011 the purchase of the Avalon Theatre in South Salt Lake. The theater's new home will feature a 185-seat auditorium with carpeted aisles, stadium seating, a thrust stage, and 17-foot high ceilings. For information on how you can help, visit the Children's Theatre website.

The Ideal Theater opened as a movie theater in 1964.1
In
1991, the first several rows of seats were removed so that a stage
could be built in front of the movie screen. On 17 October 1991,
Wasatch Playhouse presented the first live theater in Davis County,
"Reserve Two for Murder." The theater company hoped to present six
plays a year.1
The Ideal Theater closed about 1998 because of a lack of profitability.2 In
November 1998 Clearfield city condemned seven businesses, including the
Ideal Theater, to make way for the city's new $9 million,
70,000-square-foot city hall and justice center.3 The theaer was demolished before 15 June 2000.2
