Movie
Ogden, Utah

Wayne and Mark Stephens, owners of the North Star Drive-In, opened “The Movie” on 6 February 1970 in the former dining room of the Ben Lomond Motor Hotel.  It was the first new theater in downtown Ogden in more than a quarter of a century.  The cinema closed after the F. O. Woodbury family donated the troubled Ben Lomond hotel to Weber County.  The County Commission later terminated the lease on the theater in exchange for its internal fixtures.

The St. George Cinema 6 Theatres opened in 1984.[1]

In 2004, Westates Theatres spend $500,000 remodeling the Cinema 6 with stadium seating, digital sound, and new projectors. The theater remained open during the renovation, which began after Labor Day and was scheduled to be completed in mid-November 2004. The project was necessary because of low attendance at the theater following the popularity of the new Sunset Corner Stadium 8.

“The people are crying out for stadium seating,” said Lois Blackburn, area manager for Westates. “It's very popular."[2]
