New Electric Theatre
Ogden, Utah

Lester B. Funge announced plans in 1904 for the Grande Vaudeville Theatre, an 800-seat playhouse between the Reed Hotel and the St. Paul Lodging House.   In 1906, a three-story building with a hall on the top floor occupied the site.  On 20 November 1907, the 197-seat New Electric Theatre opened in a remodeled house in the same location.  The Electric was the first theater operated by the Alhambra Theatre Company, which would grow to at least eight theaters in three states within seven years.

Paula Zutes built the Crescent Moon Theater in honor and memory of her husband, Nick Duncan.  Construction began in 2002, using a design by Thebeau Consulting, and the theater opened in May 2003.  The Crescent Moon was conceived as a "Cowboy Theater", which fits the beautiful history of the Kanab area and its colorful history of western culture.  The theater features musical entertainment, cowboy poetry, talent shows, theater and dance productions, and film events such as the Monday Classic Movie Night and the Kanab Film Society Evening.  The 180-seat theater features a snack bar, four dressing rooms, DVD projection equipment, a full PA and lighting system, and a VIP room upstairs with full view of the stage.[1]
