Provo, Utah

The Cinemark 16 opened on 12 November 1999 and was the second theater complex built by Cinemark USA in Utah County.  The theater is part of the Provo Towne Center Mall and features stadium seating and digital sound in all auditoriums.

"We would like to bring a family experience to Provo, making [the Cinemark at Provo Towne Center] the ideal place for families to spend time together" said Randall Hester, vice-president of Cinemark USA.  "With so many movie choices, there is something for every member of the family."

Joseph Sims and David Tolliver opened the Maze Theatre on 27 April 1912, in the remodeled Woods restaurant building.  The partners had “a wonderful machine” which had earned them a good reputation in “the reservation country” where they had previously held their picture shows.  Morley Vernon of Maeser served as pianist and Miss Thompson as soloist.[1 & 2]  An advertisement boasted the Maze had the “newest and best pictures to be seen in Vernal, with “ripping vaudeville for Saturday night.”   Admission was 15 cents for adults and 10 cents for children.[3]
