McIntyre and McGee opened the 250-seat Photo Play Theatre in April 1912 in a building owned by the Tintic Lumber Company. A fire the same year burned the Photo Play "to the ground," but all equipment was saved and the theater was rebuilt on the same site. Although located in modern-day Mammoth, the theater was originally in Robinson, just east of Mammoth.
This morning, an incipient blaze in a vacant building of the Elberta theatre, called out the fire department which had little difficulty in putting out the fire.
