Theater group may find new home in South Salt Lake
Deseret News, 1 December 2008
Article Summary:
The Academy of Performing Arts, a 13-year-old nonprofit, is staging “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” at Salt Lake City's Sorenson Unity Center. After its holiday productions are over, the Academy will have to find a new home. Developer Steve Aste is offering the Academy a temporary home by leasing some warehouse space in South Salt Lake at a reduced rate. The Academy would have to raise money to build a theater inside. The warehouse is scheduled to be torn down in about two years for a new development, but Aste is willing to build a permanent theater nearby if the Academy has enough money to pay for a long-term lease.
