Holiday Concert at the Casino Star Theatre
Casino Star Theatre, 20 November 2010
With the winter holidays upon us and festive lights ablaze, the Casino Star Theatre in Gunnison is pleased to present Lark & Spur in an Excellence in the Community Concert of traditional and modern carols. The program will be on Friday, December 3, at 7:00 p.m.
Lark & Spur began as a duo in 1984 when Jeff Whiteley on acoustic guitar, and Lori Decker, vocals and mandolin, performed in the streets, metro tunnels and public squares of Paris, Munich and other European cities.
Over the years, Lark & Spur added other musicians and now performs as a quintet with one nylon string acoustic guitar, one steel string acoustic guitar, mandolin, bass, voices and various woodwinds. The group performs internationally at jazz festivals, events for the Utah Symphony, and innumerable public and private events.
Lark & Spur is best known for an eclectic repertoire, ensemble playing, and Lori Decker's unforgettable vocals. Their music can be previewed on YouTube.
Their appearance at the Casino Star is partially supported through a grant from the Utah Arts Council’s OnStage program, as well as an ongoing collaboration with the Excellence Concert series.
Suggested donations for tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and students. Tickets are available at Rasmussen’s Ace Hardware in Gunnison, the Sanpete Messenger office in Manti, and Kopy Katz Printing in Ephraim. For additional information, call Diana at 435-979-2798.
