Megaplex Theatres at Valley Fair Mall
West Valley City, Utah
Megaplex Theatres will open a new 15-screen theater at Valley Fair Mall by November 2012. Construction will begin after the holidays with the demolition of the vacant Mervyn's department store building. The 112,000-square-foot theater complex will feature 2,700 seats with reserved stadium seating, digital projection, D-BOX motions seats, an IMAX theater, a full-service food court, and a “Director’s Suite” reception hall. The theater is part of a $40-million remodeling project that will expand Valley Fair Mall to 120 tenants and more than a million square feet.

Firm Plans to Restore Salt Lake Building
Salt Lake Tribune, 4 February 1995
Article Summary:
Tom and Rick Howa acquired the old Utah Theaters building from Utah author Raye Ringholz and have launched a renewed effort to restore and renovate it. They "envision a night spot eventually opening on the property, possibly a dinner theater or private club featuring live musical groups similar to those frequenting the Zephyr Club." Howa Construction Inc. did some work during the past year, but construction is expected to begin in earnest next week.
