Ritz Cinemas
West Valley City, Utah
Carmike Cinemas opened the Ritz Cinemas and Hollywood Connection Family Entertainment Center on 20 November 1998. The 165,000-square-foot complex was part of an “entertainment mecca” which included the Hale Centre Theatre and the West Valley City E Center (now the Maverick Center.) In addition to 15 movie screens, the Hollywood Connection included a carousel, roller coaster, bumper cars, miniature golf, skating, arcade, restaurant, ice cream parlor, and laser tag. Carmike's goal was to have enough entertainment under one roof so families wouldn't have to go around town.

Theatre Building Bought
San Juan Record, 10 May 1934, page 5
Marie M. Ogden last week purchased the Young show hall, a well known building which has been idle for two or three years. It is expected that a community house will be made, that is, it will be converted into a place for her people to stop for rest while considering their future activities in this county.
Considerable renovating and repairing will be done.
