Premier Showing of U. P. Film at Thorley
Iron County Record, 26 January 1939, page 1
Mel Thorley received word Saturday that Cedar City has been granted the World Premier showing of the motion picture, “Union Pacific”. The showing will start on April 5th and continue for four days.
Much of the picture, which is a historical correct story of the building of the Union Pacific railroad through the West, was filmed at Cedar City, and it will be shown to the public for the first time, when it is run in the local show houses on April 5th.
Two days after its showing here, a private showing will be had in the Salt Lake Tabernacle, for Union Pacific officials and officials of the L. D. S. church. The film will not be released for public use until April 28th.
