County Says Raze Empress Theater
Salt Lake Tribune, 27 July 1984, page B3
The abandoned Empress Theater at 9104 W 2700 South in Magna is unsafe and should be torn down, Salt Lake County commissioners agreed Wednesday.
Demolition will cost about $9,000, according to Ken Jones, director of the county's development services division. Work should start soon, he said.
Owners will be billed for that work. If they refuse to pay, the county will file a lien against the property, Mr. Jones noted.
Commissioners and Magna residents kicked off a cleanup program several weeks ago with demolition of an abandoned county fire station next door.
