Utah Theater to be Remodeled at Cost of $15,000

Ogden Standard Examiner, 12 July 1917, page 5

With the program last night closing the house for extensive remodeling and repairs, the Utah theater will be “dark” for a period of between four and six weeks.

Manager A. J. Fyhn states that it is the plan to expend in the neighborhood of $15,000 in making the Utah one of the finest movie show houses in the city.  New opera chairs will be installed, the floor will be lowered so that a better slant is obtained and the entire theater is to be cleaned and redecorated, adding new carpets and draperies.

A fine pipe organ will be the most costly change to be made.   Costing in the neighborhood of $9,000, this organ will be second to none in the city in musical quality.

The new chairs to be placed will be wider than those in any other theater in Ogden.   Furthermore, they will be most comfortable, being so designed that there will be plenty of room for even the stoutest and also being shaped to make sitting in them easy.
