Orders Given for Razing of Utah Theatre in Ogden
Ogden Standard Examiner, 15 April 1925, page 4
Bids are to be asked on a nine-story and also a twelve-story hotel, to occupy the site of the present Reed hotel. If there is not too great a difference in cost, the new hotel will be twelve stories.
By May 7, the Utah theatre building, adjoining the Reed, is to be vacated, and with the tearing down of that structure, the actual work on the community hotel will start.
Three weeks from now, Ogden will see the workmen beginning the task of giving to this city one of the most modern and architecturally attractive hotels in the United States.
This building of a new hotel will make it possible for Ogden to properly entertain large bodies of visitors and to bid for conventions and other public gatherings. It will be a big asset to Ogden.
