Wednesday will be the birthday of "Sound of Music," marking a year of continuous run of the film at Utah Theatre in Salt Lake City. And just as successful as the film has been the original sound track album, largest selling album ever released by RCA, according to Ross J. Davis, Intermountain RCA manager.
Mr. Davis was distributing mammoth birthday cakes Monday to promotion outlets in celebration of the event.
"More than 35,000 of the albums have been sold in the Intermountain Area alone," he said. "Worldwide sales reached a pace of a million a month during last November and December."
