Fox Intermountain Theaters Plans Massive Remodeling

A massive remodeling and improvement program that may cost a half-million dollars was announced for Fox Intermountain Theaters in Utah by Melvin C. Glatz, Denver, official of NT&T Amusement Corp., parent firm of Fox Intermountain.

IN A MEETING with John O. Denman, manager of the Utah Fox theaters, he said all theaters in the area will be equipped with seven-track stereo sound so that any film with any type of sound track may be presented in the theaters.

Theaters that will be affected include all nine owned by the firm in Utah, with emphasis in the Oak Hills Drive-In, Villa, Uptown and Southeast Theaters in Salt Lake City; the Academy Theater in Provo, and the Egyptian Theater, Ogden.

HE SAID NEW, larger and more comfortable seats will be installed in many theaters, even though seating capacity may be lost.

The modernizing program may take up to three years to complete, Mr. Glatz said.
