Joie Theatre Doors Closed

Ogden Standard Examiner, 4 December 1911, page 8

With the last performance Sunday evening, the Joie theater at 2410 Washington avenue ceased to exist.  Today the theater properties were removed from the building and preparations made to remodel the place into quarters for a wholesale liquor firm.

The Joie theater was one of the first motion picture houses in this city and was opened several yeas ago by H. E. Skinner.  About one year ago it fell into the hands of the Alhambra Theater company, the concern which controls all the other motion picture theaters in the city save one, and was operated by that firm up to the time the place was closed last night, the former owner, H. E. Skinner, acting as manager.

The building in which the Joie was located is owned by the Sidney Stevens estate.
