Get Stomped at the Megaplex 17 Cricket IMAX Theatre

The Ant Bully: An IMAX 3D Experience to Open on July 28, 2006

Megaplex Theatres, 17 July 2006
MEGAPLEX 17, Sandy UT:  July 17, 2006 - Moviegoers will be virtually shrunken down to size as they enter the world of The Ant Bully at the Megaplex 17 Cricket IMAX Theatre at Jordan Commons on July 28th.  Debuting concurrently with the nationwide 35mm release from Warner Bros.  Pictures, the entire film has been digitally converted into IMAX 3D and features proprietary IMAX DMR(r) (Digital Re-mastering) technology.

The Ant Bully: An IMAX 3D Experience is the second animated feature film converted into IMAX 3D, and follows the phenomenal success of The Polar Express: An IMAX 3D Experience, released in 2004.  The three-dimensional images will offer moviegoers the feeling of traveling deep below the ant hill for a truly unique cinematic experience.  This picture marks Playtone's third IMAX film project, and Warner Bros. Pictures' tenth film commitment to IMAX.

"IMAX 3D has the power and depth to engage audiences in a unique way, which works perfectly for a story like this, where you want to leave the real world behind and follow this 10-year-old kid underground into the ant colony or through the wilds of his own front lawn," says The Ant Bully writer/director John A. Davis.  "Part of his adventure is seeing things he's never seen before and seeing familiar things from a whole new perspective, and we'd love for audiences to take that amazing journey with him."

From Academy Award nominated filmmaker John A. Davis (Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius) and producers Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman (The Polar Express) comes the animated family adventure The Ant Bully, a witty and heartwarming animated family adventure about a 10-year-old boy, tormented by a neighborhood bully, who takes his frustrations out on an innocent ant hill in his yard until the day the ants fight back. Through a magic potion they shrink him down to their size and make him live like an ant in the colony to learn their ways - a remarkable journey into a strange new world that teaches him about friendship and teamwork and gives him the courage to stand up for himself.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with Legendary Pictures, a Playtone Production in association with DNA Productions: Julia Roberts, Nicolas Cage, Meryl Streep, Paul Giamatti, Regina King, Bruce Campbell and Lily Tomlin in The Ant Bully, written for the screen and directed by John A. Davis, based on the book by John Nickle.  Produced by Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and John A. Davis, the film is executive produced by Keith Alcorn, Diana Choi Sachs, Steven Shareshian, Thomas Tull and William Fay.  Co-executive producer is Alex Johns.  Music by John Debney.

The Ant Bully will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company. It is rated PG for "some mild rude humor and action." www.theantbully.com
