By 2016, most of Cottonwood Mall was demolished and the rubble removed, leaving behind little but open fields.

The Macy's store at the north end is all that remains of the old Cottonwood Mall.  Abandoned on the second floor is a set of double doors that now opening into mid-air.

Moveable concrete barriers protect a drop-off to a portion of the lower level of a demolished parking garage.  Some walls were probably left in place temporarily to serve as retaining walls for the hillside.
