New Lyric Theater Nearing Completion

Richfield Reaper, 29 March 1929, page 8
Formal opening of Richfield's new theater will be held during the latter part of April, dependent upon the arrival of new equipment.

The house will be one of the largest and most modern in this end of the state.  The seating capacity has been doubled over the old house and new and modern equipment has been added, including a heating and ventilating system of ample capacity.

One of the most interesting features is the unique style of atmospheric decorations.  Persian architecture has been chosen and will be carried out in color and design.  The lighting effects are of the indirect type.

Music for the new house will be furnished by an "Orchestraphone," a new device employing a similar method of reproduction as used for the modern talking pictures.

In the rebuilding of the Lyric the stage has not been neglected.  The house will be amply equipped to take care of all road shows and stage productions in a big town manner.
