Deseret News, 19 July 2008
Article Summary:
Currently, the only things within walking distance of the Farmington FrontRunner station are the Davis County Jail and the 2nd District Court. Lagoon is reachable by shuttle. If you need to do some shopping or watch a movie, you have to go to another city.
CenterCal Properties plans to break ground on 13 August 2008 for a $200 million mixed-use development called Station Park, a downtown village atmosphere with fountains, trees, outdoor dining, and performance areas. The 62-acre site is located where I-15, Legacy Parkway, U.S. Highway 89, and FrontRunner come together.
The development will be within within walking distance of the FrontRunner parking lot and will have a total of 60 shops and 10 to 15 restaurants. On the preliminary tenant list are a 16-screen Cinemark movie theater, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, J.C. Penney, Ross, Staples, Petco, Lane Bryant, Sports Authority, and Bed, Bath & Beyond. A six-storey hotel will have 130 rooms.
Grand opening will be in Spring 2010.
