'In Progress and Pastimes' at the Grove Theatre

Grove Theatre, 19 March 2010

Celebrating events in his life, noted actor, Don Cosney will be featured in a "one-man" - plus friends - show at the Grove Theatre, Friday and Saturday, March 26 and 27.

With more than 50 years in show business and 40 years of marriage, Don has some stories to tell!  Don began with drum lessons when he was 10 years old.  By age 12, he was performing with much older musicians in bands and drum and bugle corps in his home state of New Jersey.  In 1954, he was named Best Solo drummer by the American Legion of Bergen County, NJ.

Later, while he served six years in the US Army, Don discovered his talent and passion for acting.  He appeared in plays in Japan and the Washington, DC area for USO sponsored programs.  Don headed for California in 1966 with hopes of becoming a household name.  Which he says he accomplished, "because there isn't a household in America that doesn't know the name 'Hey! You!'"

Don did work in the film and tv industry in Los Angeles as well as making many stage appearances along with his wife Susan.  They moved to Utah in 1977 where they have continued to work in film, television and in stage productions.  They are now the management team called Rainbow Chasers Entertainment, LLC operating the Grove Theatre.  This show will be a great introduction to the reopened and renovated theater.

The critics have said of Don's performances, "I found myself responding to the character . . . played by Don Cosney. . . he was totally believable." the Deseret News; "Don Cosney is excellent as the father . . ." Eagle Newspapers; "The performances were good to excellent.  Most notable was Don Cosney as the flustered but successful young gentleman . . ." Variety and the Hollywood Reporter, "Don Cosney is good . . ."  The Grove Theatre invites you to come and enjoy this fine actor, comedian and musician.

The Grove Theatre is located at 20 S. Main St., Pleasant Grove.  Shows begin at 7:30pm.  Due to limited seating reservations must be made, and are available by calling 801-885-9512.
