Theater Packs 'em In

Salt Lake Tribune, 7 July 1974, page 8B
Working on the "if-you-can't-lick'em-join'em" premise, management of the Rialto Theater, 272 S. Main, decided a couple of weeks ago to really slash admittance prices - from $2 for adults and 50 or 75 cents for children (depending on the show) to 50 cents for anyone, anytime.

"We've had a full theater ever since," said Brent Ward, manager.  He said it was the firm's answer to television.

The manager said he doubts if his competitors will follow suit, "but they sure are upset with us."

The theater is open from 1 p.m. to midnight daily.
