Cineplex Odeon opened the Layton Hills Cinemas on 14 November 1997. The multiplex theater featured "sightline seating," curved screens, and digital sound in all nine auditoriums. The largest auditorium had 444 seats and an elevator to reach the top of the stadium seating section. AMC Theatres renovated the Layton Hills 9 in 2013, reducing seating capacity in each auditorium by 50 to 70 percent to install power recliners.
Rocky Mountain Cinemas will open the new eight-screen Redstone 8 Cinemas this month at Kimball Junction near Park City, behind the new Wild Oats Market.
