S.L. Firm Buys Centre Theatre

Purchase of the Centre Theatre, and the Centre Theatre Plaza, at State and Broadway (300 South) was announced Saturday.
The buyer is British Auto Imports Inc., the principals of which are James W. Williams and Gordon O. Schettler. The seller was the Auerbach Co.
The transaction was handled by Jack C. Jensen and Associates.
The new owners plan to continue present operations.
Their investment in property and furniture renovation is expected to total about $750,000, they said.
Financing was arranged through American Savings & Loan.
The Centre, built in 1937, has 1,200 seats on the ground level and loge.
The "plaza" which embraces the theatre structure on the east and west, has 15 tenants.
