Salt Lake Welcomes Regency Theatre

A zany comedy premiered and a new theater was added to the ranks of Salt Lake's movie houses Wednesday night.
The Regency, 2749 Parleys Way, complete with the newest in sound and projection equipment, rocker seats with plenty of leg room, and orange, red and gold decor, brought "Last of the Red Hot Lovers" to the attention of opening night well-wishers.
The luxurious theater is operated by ABC Intermountain and was designed by Henry George Green and Associates, New York.
Neil Simon's successful Broadway play was an entertaining choice to introduce the new theater.
Alan Arkin stars as easy going Barney Cashman, a middle-aged businessman, who isn't exactly Don Juan. He does decide however, to have at least one memorable love affair. But he is lacking in savior faire and courage.
He meets three different types of females, portrayed by Sally Kellerman, Paula Prentiss and Renee Taylor. His efforts are almost in vain.
The color film from Paramount is rated "PG"
