Formal Opening of Thomas' Hall

Eastern Utah Advocate, 26 November 1908, page 1

Fred J. Thomas formally opened his new hall at Price last Saturday evening with a free dance and music by the Price orchestra.  It is estimated that four to five hundred people attended, including a big representation from Helper, Castle Gate, Wellington and elsewhere, a general invitation having been extended.  Only the lower floor of the building is as yet ready, but later on the second floor is to be fitted up with scenery for an opera house.

The dancing space of the lower floor is forty by a hundred feet, by far the most spacious building for the purpose in all of Eastern Utah.  The building is likely to be used as a skating rink also.  Saturday evening’s crowd was the largest assemblage ever seen at a Price dance and demonstrates that the capacity of the hall is not ahead of the town.

There will be a Thanksgiving dance there tonight and one each week during the winter.
