The Avon is still in operation on the corner there on Main Street. The Avon had the reputation of being a "test bed" theatre to includes a homemade stereo sound system developed by Rockford Fosgate. 4,18inch subs are actually cemented in the back wall of the auditorium. For an optical stereo setup, the sound was fantastic for its day.
