The Cinema 8 was built before 2000 and is located at the south end of Cedar City.  The eight-screen theater originally had sloped seating.

In April 2003, Westates Theatres reopened two of the auditoriums with stadium seating and then proceeded to upgrade the remaining theaters in pairs.  The name of the theater complex was later changed from Cinema 8 to Stadium 8.^[1]
