Star Theater
(Star Hall Theater)

LaPoint, Utah

(About 1930 - 1931)

The Star Theater was built about 1930 in the small town of LaPoint.  The theater was used for silent films, stage shows, community meetings, and even funerals.  The side walls of the theater were made of rough-hewn logs, but the façade features Mission-style stucco.  The Star Theater stopped showing movies in 1931, after struggling financially with the expense of films and projection equipment.  The building was used as a dance hall and skating rink before it burned down in 1940.[1][2][3]
