Beowulf Opens Thursday November 15 with Special Advanced Screenings at Your Local Megaplex Theatre.


Salt Lake City, Utah – November 13, 2007 – Prepare to journey back to a time of legendary heroes! On Thursday November 15 local Megaplex Theatres will give moviegoers the epic tale of Beowulf told as never before—in stunning Digital Cinema, Digital 3D (REAL D) and IMAXâ 3D formats. Beowulf has been re-mastered for unparalleled image and sound quality for the ultimate experience. Coupled together with the unique theatre geometry of the Megaplex Theatre auditoriums transports moviegoers inside the films action, heroism, and bravery of Beowulf—brought to life.

The film’s director, Academy Award winner Robert Zemeckis, stated, “Digital 3D and IMAX 3D has enabled us to tell stories in a whole new way, and we are very excited to offer moviegoers a chance to experience Beowulf in these incredible format”. “The incredible image detail in Beowulf and with 3D technology the film will transport the audience directly into the story.”

In a time of heroes, the mighty warrior Beowulf slays the demon Grendel and incurs the wrath of its monstrous yet seductive mother in a conflict that transforms a king into a legend. Groundbreaking director Robert Zemeckis offers a vision of the Beowulf saga that has never been told before “Beowulf,” starring Ray Winstone in the title role and Anthony Hopkins as the corrupt King Hrothgar, as well as John Malkovich, Robin Wright Penn, Brendan Gleeson, Crispin Glover, Alison Lohman, and Angelina Jolie as Grendel’s mother. Neil Gaiman (“Mirrormask, the graphic novel,” “Sandman”) & Roger Avary (“Pulp Fiction”) adapted the legend for the screen.

Beowulf will be distributed domestically by Paramount Pictures and internationally by Warner Bros. Pictures. This film has been rated PG-13.

All Megaplex Theatre locations will feature Beowulf in a digital cinema format. The Megaplex 17 at Jordan Commons in Sandy and the Megaplex 20 at the District in South Jordan will also feature Beowulf in Digital 3D (REAL D) format.
