Megaplex Theatres, 9 May 2008
SALT LAKE CITY, UT (May 9, 2008) — The Megaplex Theatres, part of the entertainment division of the Larry H. Miller Group, Inc., announced open ticket sales for the much anticipated Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Enthusiasts may purchase tickets at any of the five Megaplex Theatres locations, online at www.megaplextheatres.com, or by calling (801) 304-INFO (4636). The first showing will be at midnight Thursday, May 22, 2008.
Nearly 20 years after his last crusade, Indiana Jones is taking his followers on a Peruvian quest for the Crystal Skull in competition with the Soviets set in 1957. The film is predicted to be the highest grossing feature of the summer and portrays a stellar cast including Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, his co-adventurer Mutt (Shia Labeouf), Cate Blanchett, Karen Allen, Ray Winstone, Jim Broadbent and John Hurt.
“Throughout the film there are references to Indiana’s past adventures that should create an enjoyable nostalgia for the real Indiana devotees,” said Megaplex Theatres film buyer, Cal Gundersen, after viewing the tightly regulated trade screening earlier this week. “Spielberg and Lucas throw some exciting twists that keep you engaged - and it’s the perfect length for an action film.”
Megaplex Theatres expect to have a remarkable opening weekend with several show times already selling out at each of their locations. Guests can forgo the tradition of camping out or waiting in long lines for blockbuster films with the luxury of choosing their seats through the reserved seating feature available at the box office, in-theatre kiosks, drive-up kiosks and online.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a Lucasfilm Ltd. production and is being distributed by Paramount Pictures.
