Included in Fox Intermountain's theaters in the district are the Uptown, Villa, Southeast, Rialto and Murray theaters in the Salt Lake area, part of the more than 300 theaters owned by the parent corporation, National General Corp., in the Midwest and western states. Mr. Meinardi succeeds Jack N. McGee, who has been assigned to direct the eastern half of National General's territory, with offices in Denver, Colo.
Mr. Meinardi has been Fox Midwest Theatres-St. Louis district manager and film buyer for the past 17 years. His theatrical career began in his hometown, Herrin, Ill., in 1923, where he served as secretary, publicist and manager for the John Marlow circuit. Later he managed various theaters in Illinois and Missouri and in 1936 became booker for the St. Louis district.
After two years in the Army, he returned in 1945 to manage Fox Midwest Theatre in Jacksonville, Ill. He was named assistant film buyer in the Kansas City division office, then as manager of the St. Louis district in 1948, living with his wife and daughter in Webster Groves, Mo.
