FatCats Saratoga Springs opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 8 July 2019. In addition to eight luxury movie theaters with reclining black leather seats, the 7-acre, 61,000-square-foot facility includes an arcade, full service grill, 20 bowling lanes, party and business meeting rooms, a glow-in-the-dark 9-hole miniature golf course, and virtual reality rooms with 80 scenarios based on the season.[1][2][3]

Food from the grill can be ordered while purchasing movie tickets, then delivered directly to your seat in the auditorium. Moveable tables are attached to each lounger. Each row of seating is elevated enough to allow people to walk in without disrupting others.[1]

Dave Rutter and Sean Collins opened the first the FatCats location in Salt Lake City in 2001, hoping to create a space where families could go for great food and awesome entertainment. The first FatCats to include a movie theater was Rexburg, Idaho in 2010, followed by Gilbert, Arizona in 2015.[1] Groundbreaking for FatCats Saratoga Springs, its first movie theater and fully-integrated entertainment complex in Utah, was held on 12 June 2018.[3]

"While a movie theater and bowling alley might seem like basic amenities to some," Mayor Jim Miller said, "our residents could not be more thrilled to welcome FatCats to our community."[3]

In 2018, the population of Saratoga Springs had doubled over the previous eight years, with projections expecting continued growth over the next decade.[3]

"Over the years, residents of Saratoga Springs and those in the northwest region of Utah County have had to drive east and elsewhere, on over-congested roads, simply to go shopping, get to work, or even see a movie with their family. When businesses like FatCats make their home in our community, it not only provides added value to the quality of life for current residents, it is telling of other things just around the corner."[3]
